The property has a fully fenced private garden. Dogs do not need to be kept on a leash while they are within the fenced Salt & Sun garden. When outside the property and within Signal Hill Estate, dogs must be kept on a leash as there are other dogs on the estate. Dogs are permitted on the nearby beach. VEHICLE ACCESS A normal vehicle is not suitable for accessing Signal Hill Estate. A 4x4 is not compulsory; however, guests require a 2x4 vehicle with differential lock or a 4x4. Secure parking is available for two vehicles. BEACH ACCESS The closest beach is approximately a 5-minute walk from Salt & Sun. Guests follow a sandy path to a wooden walkway with stairs leading down onto the beach. This is different from Ponta Malongane’s main swimming bay, which is approximately 1.5 km from the property. The main bay has a bar, boat-launching area and dive centre. SWIMMING POOLS AT NEARBY RESTAURANTS Salt & Sun does not have a private swimming pool. Sunrise Voodoo Restaurant within Signal Hill Estate has a swimming pool. Guests may ask the restaurant owners for permission to use the pool; use of the pool is not included as an amenity of Salt & Sun. Captain Gus Restaurant at the estate entrance also has a swimming pool and water slide. These belong to the restaurant and are not facilities included with the Salt & Sun booking. HOUSEKEEPING & STAFF TIP The house is serviced daily by a housekeeper who cleans the property, makes the beds, washes dishes and cleans the bathrooms and floors. The housekeeper’s working hours are from 08:00 to 16:00 daily. A compulsory staff tip of R70 per day is payable to the housekeeper. This includes the days of arrival and departure and must be paid directly to the housekeeper in cash on departure. Guests arriving after 16:00 can collect the house keys from security at the estate gate. LINEN & TOWELS Bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests must bring their own beach towels. COFFEE MACHINE The coffee machine uses Delta coffee capsules. Guests should bring their preferred Delta capsules. Failure to comply with these rules will result in a warning. If the issue occurs again after a warning, the full breakage deposit will be forfeited.
