This lovely beach house is situated on Kangela estate. Room configuration: Bedroom 1 - en-suite shower, toilet, and basin - king-size double bed Bedroom 2 - En-suite shower, bath, toilet, and basin - King size double bed Bedroom 3 - En-suite shower, toilet, and basin - Two large single beds close together Bedroom 4 - Four single beds - En-suite shower, toilet, and basin Bedroom 5 (outside room connected by a short walkway of about 10 meters) - Two large single beds close together - En-suite shower, toilet (no door), and basin There are two covered veranda’s, decks, a swimming pool, and a private walkway onto the beach. The house is fully equipped in terms of linen, towels, kitchen appliances, beach shade, toilet paper, cutlery, crockery, etc. It comes with a very good maid (Portia) and gardener (Francisco) who will carry your stuff to the beach and erect the beach shade for you if requested to do so. Please just understand that he works for House 3 and House 4 so is sometimes next door. There are two large immoveable umbrellas on the deck as well as deck loungers for tanning. There are some low plastic beach chairs. Best to take your own umbrella if you plan on going to the bay or elsewhere for the day as the beach shade that belongs to the house is quite large and cumbersome to erect. We do have a small reverse osmosis water purifier but to be safe it’s probably best to take some drinking water with you. There is an ice machine at the house which Portia knows how to use. She will normally make ice for you and store it in one of the deep freezers. The swimming pool is deep and unprotected so please keep a careful eye on young kids. The bath/shower water is heated by solar panels so it is advisable to all shower in the evening as by morning the water has cooled somewhat. If the weather is very overcast you may have to ask Francisco to switch the geyser elements on. Bedroom 5 and the scullery are supplied by an electrical geyser. There is a gas braai as well as a Weber……just take your own Briquettes and firelighters. There is a washing machine but if you want to make use of it please bring your own Skip washing powder. We provide all cleaning materials, bottled hand soap, and toilet paper. There is a tv with a full DStv contract, but you will have to take your own music system with you. The house has a router for wi-fi reception. You will need to give Francisco some cash (normally about R110 will do) to go and buy some airtime….which he then converts to data and loads onto the router. As long as you are not downloading a lot of data this will normally last a good few days. Francisco will give you the password. There are ample freezer and fridge space. There is a chest deep freeze in the storeroom as well All the bedroom windows have burglar guards and mosquito screens. The bedroom sliding doors have trellis doors and sliding door mozzie screens, so one can sleep with all the doors wide open at night to allow the cool sea breeze through. There are overhead fans in all the bedrooms and living rooms and the entire house is kept cool by the cool North East breeze that comes off the sea almost every afternoon. The Estate is patrolled by a security team at night but it is advisable to lock the downstairs doors early in the evening as an additional precaution. Also please lock all upstairs doors and windows when you go to bed.
