The Bay View Development consists of: A superior selfcatering lodgeBay View Estate - privately owned, face brick and thatch beach housesBoth developments are located at Barra (Praia da Barra) on the north-eastern tip of the beautiful Barra peninsula, with an estuary behind and a l-o-n-g sandy beach in front of the two developments. It is a place to leave your stress behind, explore the underwater wonderland on your doorstep and enjoy the night sky, far away from bright city lights.We are approximately 485km north of Maputo, in Mozambique, and 25km from Inhambane town, in Inhambane Province, Mozambique. All roads leading to the lodge are tarred, except for the last 10km, which is dirt road. It has been hard packed with coral sand, making it easy to reach us with a normal passenger vehicle without any difficulty. NO 4x4 is needed to get to us, but is good to have if you want to explore off the beaten track.You can ask at the Reception to have freshly baked poa (portuguese bread), fish, prawns, crayfish delivered to your unit daily.  Or arrange for a taxi to take you to the market in Inhambane Village.The famous Green Turtle Restaurant is located on Bay View Estate on the beach.  It was rated as the best restaurant in Inhambane in 2012.  This restaurant is managed by a French couple.Activities can be booked at the Reception or you can take a 10 min stroll down the beach to Barra Lodges Activities Centre and book your activities direct.  Activities include the below:horse ridingsnorkelingscuba divingquad bikecatamaran sailing to different islandssea safari
